A neuroscience startup company, called BrainBridge, recently announced that it has created a system for performing head transplants with the help of artificial intelligence.
The procedure would graft a head onto the body of a brain-dead donor while maintaining the memories and cognitive abilities of the transplanted person. The entire process is guided by A.I. to facilitate precise reconnection of the spinal cord, blood vessels, and nerves.
Researchers say the groundbreaking surgery could help patients with untreatable conditions like Parkinson’s and paralysis.
